The IFCA is dedicated to its mission of service and its role as the recognized leader in representing, educating, and supporting the leadership of Indiana’s fire and emergency services. The IFCA promotes excellence in the fire and emergency services by providing a forum for networking, information sharing, and other cooperative opportunities, and projects a unified voice for our diverse membership and partners through educational, legislative and technical means.

Throughout the year we conduct statewide district meetings, as well as other seminars, workshops and outings of various types. Our Annual Conference, held in combination with the EMS and other groups, offers those professionals in the fire emergency services additional educational opportunities.

The IFCA is actively engaged with members of the Indiana General Assembly where we provide testimony and advice intended to promote legislation that will enhance and protect the interests of the Indiana Fire Service. Conversely, we oppose legislation that would reduce members’ resources and diminish fire protection services. In the 2009 legislative session the IFCA worked closely with elected officials and other organizations to help defeat legislation that could have eliminated some township fire departments. We continue to be vigilant as the 2010 session fast approaches and are already working with legislators and to oppose any bills that would mandate forced fire department consolidation.

We are seeking partnerships with entities such as yours by encouraging involvement as annual sponsors and members of the IFCA. We offer various annual sponsorship arrangements that would allow us to help you promote valuable information about your industry. Opportunities to post articles on our website and offer presentations at meetings are just a few of the benefits we can extend to you. I believe this partnership would be of value to both of our causes. As members of the IFCA, you and your companies would also receive all benefits of membership, with the exception of holding an elective office or voting rights.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Terry Rake
Executive Director
Indiana Fire Chiefs Association
